Imagine traveling around the world in your wedding attire. Wild, right? But that’s exactly what Nick and Zoe Aust did.
The pair wed on Dec. 31, 2017 and spent 2018 traveling to 33 countries, all while wearing their wedding outfits.
The pair visited places like Spain, France and Turkey, with Zoe in her wedding dress at all the main sites. They posted pictures from their trip on their Instagram account, @marrymeintravel, which has since amassed nearly 40,000 followers.
Zoe Aust described her Watters Ferrara wedding dress as out of her comfort zone, which she said was fitting because the newlyweds quit their jobs to travel the world.
“We were doing all of these big things out of our comfort zones,” Aust told USA TODAY. “Quitting our jobs, traveling the world, why not bring along the outfits from the best day of our lives?”
They carried around their wedding attires in a garment bag, she explained.
“We didn’t think too much about it and we just hoped for the best throughout our travels,” she added of their nearly year-long honeymoon, which ended in October. “It’s a true testament to the Watters designers because you’d never know this dress has been around the world!”
The couple even went into the Indian Ocean with the wedding attire on.
“Jumping into the Indian Ocean in our wedding attire on our last day before heading home just put us over the top with gratitude!”
Though the couple returned from their trip (and are about to move to Brooklyn, New York) that doesn’t mean the traveling is over.
“We just got back home from Morocco and volunteering in Sierra Leone,” Zoe Aust said. “We’re in the process of figuring out our next destination!”
