Best Destination Resort: Hidden Pond in Kennebunkport, Maine

Hidden Pond, a resort nestled amid 60 acres of birch groves and balsam fir trees on the southern coast of Maine, invites guests to kick off their shoes and relax by the pool, the fireplace or an al fresco bar. Best Eco-Friendly Hotel: The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte

The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte, a LEED Gold certified property, offers luxury and sophistication with sustainability laced throughout. The hotel opened in 2009 and became the first Ritz-Carlton in the world to attain Gold status. Back-of-the-house conservation efforts mean the hotel uses about 30 percent less energy than comparable conventional hotels.

Best Historic Hotel: The Peabody Memphis

Named after the world’s first mixed drink (according to some), The Sazerac Bar has been quenching New Orleans‘ thirst for decades. Located within The Roosevelt New Orleans, this classic space features an African walnut bar and murals by Paul Ninas; it was once a popular haunt of politician Huey P. Long.

Celebrity chef José Andrés brings an inventive tapas experience to The Bazaar at SLS Beverly Hills. Start with dry-cured Iberico ham imported from Spain or a classic Catalan-style toasted bread with fresh tomato and Manchego cheese. Shared plates include piquillo peppers stuffed with goat cheese, wild mushroom rice, shrimp sautéed with garlic and tomato sofrito, house-made pork sausage, and seared Wagyu beef cheeks with black garlic and citrus.
